Q. What type of riding does Bedminster Stables offer?

 

A. Bedminster Stables offers Hunter, Jumper, Equitation and Cross Country lessons.  

Q. I am not ready to get on a horse but would love to learn more about them. Do you have an option for me?

A. Yes, BDS offers horsemanship and ground lessons for more timid individuals. These sessions include horse anatomy, tack, grooming, horse handling and more!

Q. Do you offer beginner adult lessons?

A. Yes, we offer lessons for all levels and ages.

Q What is the typical length of a lesson?

A. Beginner lessons are typically 30 minutes while more advanced lessons typically run 45/60 minutes.

Q Do I need to bring a helmet?

A. While BDS provides schooling helmets. It is recommended that serious students invest in purchasing their own helmet. 

Q. What is proper riding typical attire?

A. Paddock Boots, Half Chaps, Jodphors and Polo Shirt. Layers in colder weather are recommended. 

Q. It's my first lesson do I need to invest in riding attire?

A. If riding for the first time, thick leggings and a boot with a heal is acceptable. Sneakers are not permitted.

Q. If my lesson is at 3pm what time should I arrive. 

A. Students should arrive dressed and ready to go 15 minutes before a lesson to "Tack-up" before heading into the ring.
